Nice campsites. Electric 15-20 amp. Multiple water fill stations in campground. Dump station. Park has nice swimming beach, playgrounds, hiking trails.
Excellent facility for families with tents or campers. There is a sweet overlook to watch sunsets. There are clean bathrooms with showers. The rangers are very polite and knowledgeable of the Spring Valley area if you need anything.
Only electric sites but very private and large wooded areas. Hiking and Horse trails.
I am giving this place a 1 star due to the way we were treated by the park rangers. It's a nice place but the rangers are extremely rude. A group of us rented out the whole group loop, so there were close to 30 of us. Now the group loop is pretty much segregated from the rest of the campground and none of the other campsites are real close. Quiet time is 10:00. The first night the rangers showed up with a police officer which I believe is common that the officer does a routine patrol through there. They asked us to quiet our kids down, which I understand because they were running around screaming. We got them quiet and to bed. So after that all the grown ups proceeded to sit around the fire and talk. Not much longer after that the rangers drive by slowly. Then they must have turned around and came back to our area and rudely told us to keep our voices down. Which we didn't think we were loud. They also told us if they get any complaints that they will have to get "hands on". What does that mean? So we just brought our voices down to a whisper. But through out the rest of the night they kept creeping by us. The next evening the rangers show up right at 10:00 to warn us that if they get complaints they will force us in our campsites. Keep in mind in the group loop they have a community type area in the middle of all the sites in there for everyone to congregate. They were rude that time as well. So we had some people walk down the road to the nearest campsite and you they couldn't hear us and the people staying at that campsite said they haven't heard us. The rangers continued that whole evening creeping by us as well. We felt harrased and we weren't doing anything wrong. The rangers are a couple of younger females that seem to think they can bully campers. I've been to many campground and have never seen this before. It was ridiculous. We have people that will be talking to whatever management they might have. Now don't mistake the rangers with the camp hosts. The camp hosts there were very nice and cordial. As a matter a fact the camp hosts apologized to us for how the rangers treated us. Nice place but beware of the rangers!
Great campground, clean and quiet. Private sites for the most part. Well kept and organized considering it's a Corps. program. Playground close to the sites, walk in sites for tents, beach is a short drive. Will forever be apart of our annual cold weather trips.
